After Tris and Four leaving Dauntless and managed to escape, they are referred to as Insurgent (rebels). They both seek allies and eventually met with Peter and Marcus Eaton. Finally, four of them looking for answers about what is actually happening in the ruins of Chicago Futuristic Dystopian.
In the midst of the search, they returned hunted by Erudite faction leaders that Jeanine Mathews who are eager to power and make Tris and Four as the most wanted fugitive .Tris and Four must race against time to find out about the mysteries that haunt them, especially Tris. Starting from what has been sacrificed Tris family for their lives and why Erudite factions are eager to capture Tris and Four.
In the midst of the confusion, Tris overshadowed by her past, making desperate to keep fighting.
